Holz (Daily Bread Author) says; Together we stand firm when life's headwinds gust our way together . Does this quote resonate well with you? In 2020, We all have witnessed how nations like South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Denmark fought the global virus. We have watched how their government and people became united, and how they successfully achieved possible results despite life’s headwinds such as COVID-19 which took the lives of millions of people across the globe. We also observed how people from other nations played the blame game while the repercussions were just too enormous. A government system that was thought to be stabl

WHAT MAKES THEM GREAT

By Mr. Francis Kong Real people of greatness are humble people because they do not have to prove anything. The arrogant are not so, they are insecure. They have to assure others and  themselves that they are worthy of admiration. But people see through them over time. And they lose respect…. The Wake

Source : FrancisKong.com When William learned that he was being fired for laziness and inefficiency, he went to see the head of human resources.  "Since I've been with the firm for so long," he said, " I think I deserve at least a letter of recommendation." The human resources director agreed and said he'd have the letter that next day.  The following morning, William found the letter on his desk.  It read: "William worked for our company for eleven years. When he left us, we were very satisfied." What happened to William? Why did he lose the fire? Maybe he needs to be in a wake. Puzzled? Want to know what I mean? Well I got this idea from an unknown author who came up this beautiful piece: One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big sign on the door on which was written: Yesterday, the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the wake in the room that has been prepared in the

Now I understand why Japan is a Great Country

Source : From a Relative THIS letter, written by Vietnamese immigrant Ha Minh Thanh working in Fukushima as a policeman to a friend in Vietnam, was posted on New America Media on March 19. It is a testimonial to the strength of the Japanese spirit, and an interesting slice of life near the epicenter of Japan's crisis at the Fukushima nuclear power plant . It was translated by NAM editor Andrew Lam , author of "East Eats West: Writing in Two Hemispheres." Shanghai Daily condensed it. Brother, How are you and your family? These last few days, everything was in chaos. When I close my eyes, I see dead bodies. When I open my eyes, I also see dead bodies. Each one of us must work 20 hours a day, yet I wish there were 48 hours in the day, so that we could continue helping and rescuing folks. We are without water and electricity, and food rations are near zero. We barely manage to move refugees before there are new orders to move them elsewhere. I am currently in Fukushima, ab

KEEP ON STRIKING AND KEEP IT HOT

Source : Francis Kong Blog An ambitious young man had been trying for months to be granted an interview with a major computer manufacturer. After making dozens of attempts he finally managed to get the HR Director to take his call. The young job seeker asked if he could get into their well-known training program. With dozens of qualified candidates already in his files, the HR Director replied, "I'm sorry but I can't interview you now. Why don't you call back in about five years?" Now that was really a very rude remark but guess what happened? The smiling young man replied, "Morning or afternoon?" Now don’t we love people who do not surrender easily? Confucius says: "It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop." Talk about perseverance. One day, a man was sitting at home when he hears a faint a knock at the door. He gets up, opens the door, and sees... no one.  He looks around in the dark a bit before he just shrugs his shou

I would fly far away to the quiet of the wilderness. How quickly I would escape — far away from this wild storm of hatred. Psalm 55:6-8 NLT Nothing great was ever done without much enduring. Catherine of Siena Resist flight David was a man after God's own heart and a great, anointed king. But in many ways, he was just like us. Psalm 55 is an example. When the pressure was on, David just wanted to run away. All of us have had similar urges. When life gets intense and troubles seem to offer no way out, we just want to get out of the situation. Every Christian who has been prepared by God and stretched to his or her limits can relate: There are times when we would do anything if God would just remove us from our trial. We'll pray for ways of escape, but God often leaves us surrounded until His time is right. God has no scorn fo

Has God calmed your fear?

Source : God’s Daily Promise Newsletters   In my distress I prayed to the Lord and the Lord answered me and rescued me. The Lord is for me, so I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me. Psalm 118:5-7 NLT Prayer offers us a way out of our fear. It is all a matter of calling upon Jesus' name. Only in His name is there help. The more we call upon His name, the more we will experience this truth. Mother Basilea Schlink (1904-2001) The Lord is for me Today's verses tell us that the psalmist was in a frightening situation. But in his distress, he cried out to God in prayer. Because of God's presence and strength in response to his plea, the psalmist could look in triumph at those who hated and attacked him. For every difficulty and trial, God has prepared a way. His eyes are on those who trust in him in their distress, and his ears are attentive to their cries. You can know and rest assured that just as God was for David,

Attitude

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or scale. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past.… We cannot change the fact that people act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it, and so it is with you…. We are in charge of our attitudes. Preparation for Your Presentations by Jim Rohn

Persistence in your presentations, this is one secret to success. After my first presentation, I got up and did it again. Even though I was scared to death, I did it again. And that second one wasn’t too good. But guess what? I did it again, and I did it again. And I worked up my courage, and I did it again. I committed to it, and I did it again. And finally, it got to be a little bit easier. I got a little more acquainted with the art of presenting. So have something good to say in your presentations. Preparation for your presentations, this is another key aspect. Here are some words to help you in preparation. To prepare to have something good to say, keep a keen interest in life and people. Don’t let your senses go dull here. Guess what most people are trying to do—get THROUGH the day. Here is what I am asking this unusual audience to do—get FROM the day. Get from the day a clear picture of the drama of human life. Some doing is right, some doing is wrong. Some gather

Vitamins for the Mind by Jim Rohn Education/Learning

Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune. We must learn to apply all that we know so that we can attract all that we want. Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins. If someone is going down the wrong road, he doesn’t need motivation to speed him up. What he needs is education to turn him around. Don’t see the mind for more than it is, but don’t misread it for all that it can be. Sharpen your interest in two major subjects: life and people. You will only gather information from a source if you are interested in it. Education must precede motivation. While you are in school, make sure you get the information. What you think about it, that’s up to you. What you are going to do with it that will soon be up to you. But while you are there, make sure you get it. In fact, my advice is: Don’t leave s

Be thankful for your blessings by Jack Canfield

The practice of giving thanks is commemorated today in America as a national holiday. But if you want to live an abundant life, appreciation shouldn’t be confined to a solitary day. It should be incorporated into your daily living. Appreciation is one of the highest emotional states you can be in. It is the state of abundance. The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. If you are grateful for what you have already received, you will attract more for which you can be grateful. Many people find that it requires great diligence to cultivate an attitude of appreciation. We are culturally conditioned to focus on what we don’t have, rather than appreciating what we’ve already received. “There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread.” - Mother Teresa, Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize Jack Canfield Reveals His #1 Secret (Free Video) – CLICK HERE Appreciate the Smallest Blessings Activate your gratitude by acknowledging the gifts most people take

Mark 11:15-25 15) And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons; 16) and he would not allow any one to carry anything through the temple. 17) And he taught, and said to them, " Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers. " 18) And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and sought a way to destroy him; for they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching. 19) And when evening came they went out of the city. 20) As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. 21) And Peter remembered and said to him, "Master, look! God's Daily Promise

What, me worry? "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Matthew 6:25 NLT Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalm 55:22 NLT The mistrust of anxiety Words of encouragement from the Master are always welcome. The stresses of life come upon us and a brother or sister in Christ reminds us that He is in control. He is sovereign, He knows when the sparrow falls, He numbers the hairs on our heads, He clothes the lilies of the field. He says not to worry about our life, and we welcome the suggestion as an encouraging pat on the back. But how often do we view this verse as a commandment from on high? It may not carry the force of "Thou shalt not," and it may not have the emphasis of a "Go into all the world," but it is written as an imperative nonetheless. "Do not," Jesus says, and Paul echoes this injunctio

God's Promise

Have you experienced the peace of God during times of trouble? Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. Psalm 46:6 NLT Be still my soul Be still, my soul! thy God doth undertake To guide the future as He has the past, Thy hope, they confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul! the waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below. Be Still, My Soul (v2) , Katharina Amalia von Schlegel (1697-?) Whatever your circumstances, if you believe the first line of this great hymn, you will be at rest. In the midst of the psalmist's troubles, the Lord said, "Be still, and know that I am God." It was these same words that spoke to Katharina von Schlegel in the turbulent times of post-Reformation Germany. A century after Luther's reforms, central Europe was racked by the Thirty Years' War, which pitted Catholics against Protestan

Do You Trust Him?

Image
Do You Trust Him? by  Max Lucado I know God knows what’s best. I know I don’t.  I know he cares. Such words come easily when the water is calm. But when you’re looking at a wrecked car or a suspicious-looking mole, when war breaks out or thieves break in, do you trust him? Scripture, from  Old Testament  to New, from prophets to poets to preachers, renders one unanimous chorus: God directs the affairs of humanity. No leaf falls without God’s knowledge. No dolphin gives birth without his permission. No wave crashes on the shore apart from his calculation. God has never been surprised. Not once. I am the one who creates the light and makes the darkness. I am the one who sends good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does these things. (Isa. 45:7) Some find the thought impossible to accept. One dear woman did. After I shared these ideas in a public setting, she asked to speak with me. Husband at her side, she related the story of her horrible childhood. First abused, then ab

Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. When those statements are your goals, you are certain to achieve them! Giving yourself goals can be tricky however, and your subconscious mind needs things put a certain way. You need to be specific with yourself. The more specific you are with your goal, the more your brain has to go on to make just those things happen. Remember, vague goals produce vague results. Don’t be afraid to be detailed with what you want! Write it all down as if you were putting in an order. Your subconscious will make it happen for you by steering you toward those opportunities. Your goals might seem a bit overwhelming at first glance. But look again! Do you see how your goals can be broken down into a series of steps? When looking up a recipe you do not simply find in large letters “Perfect Lasagna Every Time.” No! That of course is the end result, just like your goal. The recipe is there to help you achieve that g

It's not that you are trying to convince your conscious mind; instead, you are simply sending new information to the subconscious.
