Holz (Daily Bread Author) says; Together we stand firm when life's headwinds gust our way together . Does this quote resonate well with you? We have witnessed nations like South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Denmark were quite successful in their efforts to contain the global virus. When people from nations are united, they can achieve positive results despite life’s headwinds such as covid-19  that took the lives of people by the thousands daily. But when people play the blame game, the repercussions are just too enormous. The system that was thought to be stable, strong, and envied in nations have failed. Even nations w

The  greatest hunger in life is the constant search for a meaningful Life.

While you go through your journey of life, you believe that your achievements in life matters most. You start to realize that enjoying and learning through your journey is more important than the destination.

Chances are, you are truly blessed and lucky if there is no room for any regret. You are convinced that you have effectively played the game of life when nearing the end of your earthly life.

After 30 years, I bumped into a high school buddy one Saturday at a busy mall located in my hometown. Considering our respective life journey and our achievement, for a while i thought i was in a time capsule remembering our humble beginnings during our teen hood.

Sooner or later, homegrown lads like myself who had spent decades outside of our comfort zone will always take time to visit our once sleepy hometown and bump into childhood buddies who happens to be in the same place and time, visiting their respective roots with their families.

The once quiet and yet simple hometown that we all once knew at a young age is now replaced by high rise commercial buildings that houses global brands from food, hotels, banks, coffee shops and more.

Gone are those old movie houses and family owned shops where you use to hang out. Gone are those old trees that you grew up with. The only few remaining old structures are the monuments, churches and government buildings.

The population has dramatically increased leading to a once never heard crowded places, heavy traffic, noise and air pollution.

Suddenly you now realize that time went so fast that you now find yourself a few more years before reaching senior citizen status. A status where you are entitled at least 20% discount on purchases and services by having a senior card.

We somehow try to avoid the thought of having a senior card identification.

You also start to wonder why your social media accounts are turning to an obituary page when families, school mates, classmates and childhood friends are now remembered as “gone too soon” status.

As a result, you start to think about changing your lifestyle, a career change, live in a stress free environment and pursue a  better quality of life. These thoughts and changes has led you to believe that living a healthier life is more important that ”chasing the carrot on a stick.

When is enough going to be enough?

The big decision and nagging thoughts starts settle into your mind whether to switch from a stressful corporate life to a more laid back life that involves a big adjustment and giving up an attractive compensation package.

Some say life begins at 40. I do think life begins and continues at a much later age when your preferences, ambitions and priorities in life changes for the better. When chasing after the  material wealth is no longer your priority.

Happiness, health and a more meaningful life becomes one’s priority.

When at the beginning of our life journey, our definition of a meaningful life is the accumulation of wealth on a never ending mode.

Understanding a search for a more meaningful life begins at a stage when you realize true happiness can be the missing link in spite of the years of achievements and accumulation of material wealth.

This holds when you start to meet and catch up with your childhood friends after a long journey of life and you start listening to their same ecoh of thoughts about the desire for change by adding value and meaning to life.

After a happy moment of reminiscing about my childhood mischiefs and experiences over the dinner table with my childhood buddy, You start reflecting about your life and what the future brings while i am on my way home.

Who knows?, your childhood mate maybe thinking about the same, searching for a more meaningful life
