A famous quote coming from Adam R. Holz (Daily Bread Author) says;

Together we stand firm when life's headwinds gust our way together.

Does this quote resonate well with you?

We have witnessed some nations like South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Denmark who had acted as one in fighting out the global virus.

When people from nations are united, they can achieve positive results despite life’s headwinds such as covid-19  that is killing people by the thousands daily.

On the other hand, when people from nations seem to be in the blame game, the repercussions are just too enormous. The system that was thought to be stable, strong, and envied has failed.

Even nations with large economies and supposedly with strong health care systems have collapsed. Its weaknesses and vulnerabilities are exposed. Its citizens and the media making fun of every remark being given by their chief executive during media briefings.

These are clear symptoms of a system that is failing because its people are flying alone instead of flying in groups.

Flying in V Formation
Did you ever notice how birds fly?

These birds fly in groups and in a V formation. These wonderful winged creatures do this for a good reason. They head into a specific destination and the formation is to help in fighting off the winds, no matter the odds. They must reach their final destination.

Just like the geese, they always fly in groups. (Photo Courtesy)

If a group of birds can fly as one, why can't humans do the same especially during times of crisis?

If indeed people were created and considered to be intelligent and superior over other living creatures on earth, why can't they behave and act like one just like the birds?

People Support

People need to support each other especially during times when encouragement is needed.

This ongoing global pandemic has created unimaginable uncertainty. A forced community lock-down had forced big and small businesses to shut down leaving millions of people jobless after three months since the outbreak started to spread in January 2020.

Cases of mounting stress, depression, and domestic violence are being reported. Incidence of discrimination against health workers and front-liners is arising. The worst may still happen but we are hoping otherwise.

People Need Relationship For Encouragement

Governments across the world have strictly imposed strict home quarantine. Despite the imposition, some defiant people opted to go out to public places and refuse to practice social distancing endangering other people around them.

People from all walks of life including celebrities and politicians were obliged and became home-liners. Realizing the danger of spreading the virus, social distancing became the norm.

While social distancing was going on all over the world, emotional distancing was not really the case. A positive effect on relationships was happening even under abnormal circumstances.

The good news is relationship health is being enhanced within families, colleagues, and friends. Thanks to technology and social media, people across the world started reaching out to each other offering support and encouragement.

Will it really take a global pandemic of this magnitude to happen for people to value relationships? Does it look like cleansing is taking place?

I am a pet parent just like the others. These domesticated pets may not be fully aware of what is happening, but they sure are happy to have their parents at home every day for more than a month.

It was also reported that animals in the zoo started to miss their human visitors. There are also reported sightings of animals crossing into empty urban areas wondering what is going on?

A Cord With Three Strands Is Not Easily Broken.
Have you tried using a weak cord to tie it into something and just broke because it could not withstand the force or pressure? A cord with several stands makes it stronger

I know some people think they can always face life all alone. But deep inside they may be the loneliest and scared people in this world.

In fact, I met a person some months back who seemed tough and did not really care about nurturing relationships. This person is prone to mood swings, a tendency to be loud, violent, and worst suddenly snaps. When this happens, life becomes difficult for people around this person.

A track and field team that aims to win must work together in passing that baton at the right time and speed. (photo courtesy).
