Holz (Daily Bread Author) says; Together we stand firm when life's headwinds gust our way together . Does this quote resonate well with you? We have witnessed nations like South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Denmark were quite successful in their efforts to contain the global virus. When people from nations are united, they can achieve positive results despite life’s headwinds such as covid-19  that took the lives of people by the thousands daily. But when people play the blame game, the repercussions are just too enormous. The system that was thought to be stable, strong, and envied in nations have failed. Even nations w

Dealing with Failures

Photo Credit: Sharon Pittaway We all face failures in our lifetimes. Some have learned to take  failures as challenges and opportunities for growth, while some treat failures like it is the end of the world, and in extreme cases some would go to the extent of attempting of taking one's life. No one is exempted from facing failures and we might as well learn on how to turn around over these failures and overcome. I have personally witnessed  friends who have failed miserably, and turned these failures into victories, while some unfortunately gave up on their ambitions and succumbed to a negative mental state. At a young age of 19, failures and challenges started knocking on my door.  Fast forward 36 years, i do not think i would be at my present status in life if i had given up on my dreams and let my personal  failures swallow my ambitions. My journey started with a bus fare and one piece baggage, and travelled out of my comfort zone, leaving behind me my midd

We Share Our Love

Image
It is once again the 13 th of February ( as i write this blog), the eve of Valentine’s day when the married and the unmarried couples would somehow try to feel each other out, anticipating the 14 th February when their colleagues, friends, and family would start their greetings with their   love and heart icon Valentine greetings .         A Day when most start their day by checking on their respective social network timelines and chat platforms, looking out for that special greetings coming from that special someone. He/she could be the spouse, the boyfriend or girlfriend, a crush, and even a lover. The wonderful feeling of being romantically high maybe due to the increase in one's   dopamine levels   during this period.       In contrast, other   love couples, especially with married couples that are faced with life’s daily challenges, there could be issues at hand such as, unfullfiled sexual desire issues, pride and rejection issues, boredom and communicati

A Restless 2017 and Looking Forward for a Calmer 2018

Restlessness, the inability to relax or stay calm due to anxiety or boredom. If you are one of those who have been under daily constant pressure both at work and at home for years, just because you may be as passionate with the constant desire to achieve and get ahead. The desire to compete with yourself and believe that you have been productive all your life. There could be numerous reasons of why a person can have such a high level of drive and this is something very positive. However, when the time comes when the end results are no longer meeting the high expectations, these can often lead to high anxiety. Boredom   also strikes when the person starts to feel a sense of failure and unappreciated by the environment. When anxiety and boredom becomes the norm, restlessness about any situation ignites and will eventually overshadow good judgement. The Test

Image
The Test We may not be aware of it,  but somehow we all are undergoing tests in life. Most of the time, we do realize that we have been tested especially under a difficult situation. We do our self assessment whether we had made the right or wrong decision. At times it does bother us for day, week and even months if we are not moving on with the results. When making a difficult decision, we do weigh in what is inside our heart or minds. Regardless, my heart decisions always won over my mind. At the end of the day, it is always my happiness in life that counts. The Test by Paulo Coelho is a classic example of the heart clashing with the mind. In this story, you will make your personal conclusion whether the Heart or the Mind has taken over The Test ... Coffee Shop Life

Image
Deep thoughts started, and he begins to think that there must be more meaning to life , while he takes a sip of his americano coffee at a nearby well known coffee shop , owned by a friendly 40 something Indian/Kenyan couple. He starts to notice familiar faces and regular customers coming into the shop, mostly in their senior years from the city's  upper class level. Noticeable  to him are the customers struggling with their walking crutches helped out by wives and private nurses alight from their vehicles and finding their seat. The  coffee shop scene makes an impression in his mind,  these customers must be heart stroke survivors or terminally ill outpatients, as a result of excessive stress, health abuse and players of the rat race. He begins to think if this could be the same direction that he is heading to, by working too hard and too much concerned about the future. For whatever it is worth, he begins to believe that there must be more meaning to life .

Life can never be Static

My life is under constant change. Year 2003 when I left Kenya for Hongkong for a job training with light carry baggage with a few clothes. As fate would have it, I never realized that a drastic change on my life is about to unfold. I never made it back to Kenya and it was the longest detour i had before I realized that I am back in Kenya after 13 long years. I had no problems settling down being familiar with surroundings and the Kenyan. Who knows I will be back again in Madagascar where life was always exciting!. http://www.finerminds.com/personal-growth/the-benefits-of-being-resilient/?utm_content=bufferb4215&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer
